Task Assistant: the agent that runs your Projects page with you
The Projects page is full of small jobs. Give this task to Maria. Move everything open to the next sprint. How is the launch project going? Task Assistant is the assistant behind the sparkles button on the Projects page. You type the request as you would say it to a colleague, and it does the looking, filtering and updating for you.
It follows the Worknano approach: customisable with AI, focused on core functionality, and the same UI, UX and database as every other module. Your tasks stay normal tasks. The assistant is another way to work with them.
What it does
- Finds and filters projects, tasks, teams and users. It knows that open means any status other than Done, and that active, backlog and closed are project stages.
- Assigns work in everyday phrases. "Give this to Ayşe" sets the assignee, "assign me" uses you. If nobody is named, the task stays unassigned instead of getting an invented owner.
- Changes status using the statuses of that project. It reads the project first, so the status is one the project actually has. It can also add, rename or reorder the status columns of one project.
- Handles the custom fields a project defines for its tasks, and can add a custom field to a single project.
- Understands dates such as today, tomorrow or Thursday, calculated from the current date.
- Answers "how is this going" for the project you have open, using that project and its tasks.
- Checks data quality, and can reach the API endpoints and tools your admins have connected.
When it helps
- Monday planning. You ask for all open tasks without an assignee in one project, then hand them out in one message.
- A status check. Before a meeting you open the project and ask for a quick status. You get the state of its tasks without leaving the page.
- Cleaning up. You ask what is missing in your tasks. It reports which tasks lack an assignee or a due date, then works through them one rule at a time. See Data Hygiene Assistant.
How it works with your data
Task Assistant only reads what the signed-in user may read, and it keeps the project or team scope of the page you are on. Every create, update or delete goes through a preview, and nothing is applied until you confirm. It runs on a fast model with tools to list models and fields, read and search records and file text, count and group, create, update and delete, draw diagrams and open the configuration assistant for structural requests.
When your admins connect external APIs or tools, the assistant can look them up and call them, within what those connections allow.
What it does not do
- It does not write without your confirmation.
- It does not change the structure of the task model. Adding a field for every project is a configuration job, and it points you to the configuration assistant.
- It does not guess an owner or a status the project does not have.

Make it yours
Task Assistant is a record in the Agents module, like every other assistant. Change its instructions to add your team's conventions, switch the model or temperature, remove tools you do not want it to have, duplicate it, or start blank.
