Task Summarizer: a short, factual summary of one task
Some tasks have a long history. A description that grew over weeks, a status that changed twice, a due date that moved. When you pick it up again, you want the short version. Task Summarizer reads one task and writes it for you: what it is about, where it stands and whether it looks on track. You can run it from a record action or use it as a step in a workflow.
It is a small agent on purpose. Worknano keeps to core functionality, and AI helps you customise how the task page works, with the same UI, UX and database that every other module uses.
What it does
- Reads the task you pass in: title, description, status, priority, assignee and dates.
- Writes two to four factual sentences, no padding and no motivational tone.
- Names the current status and priority so you do not need to open the fields.
- Mentions the assignee and the dates that matter, such as a due date that is close or already behind you.
- Says whether the task appears to be on track, based on what the fields show.
When it helps
- Picking up a colleague's work. You inherit a task during a handover. One summary tells you what it is and whether the date is at risk.
- A weekly review. You run it on a handful of tasks and paste the summaries into your status note.
- A workflow that notifies someone. When a task reaches a certain status, a workflow adds a summary to the message so the reader does not need to click through.
How it works with your data
Task Summarizer has no tools. It cannot search your workspace or open other records. It only sees the task object that is handed to it, and the task is handed over by the part of the product you ran it from, so it follows what you are allowed to see. It does not write anything back. The summary is text that you read, copy or store in a field through a workflow step.
It runs on a fast model, because the job is short and the answer is small.
What it does not do
- It does not look at comments, subtasks or the rest of the project unless they are part of what you pass in. For a full picture of a project, use Task Assistant on the Projects page.
- It does not change the status or the dates. It only describes them.
- On track is a reading of the fields, not a promise. If the fields are empty, the summary will say little. That is a data problem, and Data Hygiene Assistant helps with it.
Make it yours
Task Summarizer is a record in the Agents module. You can change its instructions, for example to always add the next step, switch the model or temperature, duplicate it for another record type such as deals, or start blank.
