Chat Agent: answers a mention in a thread with real data
Chat Agent is the one that answers when you mention the assistant in a chat thread. It lives where the conversation already is: on a project, a deal, or a plain conversation between people. You ask a question or describe a change, and the reply lands in the thread for everyone to see. No switching tabs, no copying numbers into a message.
What it does
- Answers questions with live data: lists of records as tables, counts and breakdowns as charts, and processes or dependencies as a diagram.
- On a project or deal thread, keeps its answer scoped to that record unless you name something else.
- Understands "mine" and "my tasks" as you, the author, and "our" or "the team" as everyone, and uses the recent messages in the thread to resolve words like "this" or "that task".
- Proposes new records or updates, for example a task with the right assignee. The thread shows a confirmation card, and nothing is saved until someone confirms it.
- Reads data from shared integrations that all members can use. Changes in an external system also go through a confirmation preview.
- Hands off to the AI Assistant panel when the request is personal, or needs a personal connection, and for things a thread cannot do, like saving a document or changing the structure of your data.
When it helps
- In a deal thread, someone asks "what is still open with this customer?". The agent lists the open items and the whole team sees the same answer.
- After a planning chat, you write "turn this into tasks for Ana and Mehmet". The agent reads the messages, matches the people and proposes the tasks for confirmation.
- In a team conversation, a lead asks for tasks per person this week. The agent runs the query and posts a small chart.
How it works with your data
Chat Agent runs with the permissions of the person who wrote the mention, not with more. Because everyone in the thread sees the reply, it avoids personal data such as pay or private notes and points you to the AI Assistant panel instead. It never deletes records from a conversation. It uses a fast model and a set of tools to read records, search content, and propose creates and updates. It does not claim a change was saved before you confirm it.
Make it yours
Chat Agent is a record in the Agents module, so you can adapt it. Change its instructions or tone, choose another model, adjust the temperature, add or remove tools, or duplicate it for a team with different habits.
