Workflow Editor: changes one workflow without weakening it
Workflow Editor changes a workflow that already runs. You describe the change, for example another recipient, a different condition or a new step, and the agent returns a small edit plan. Existing actions, triggers and permissions stay as they are. That is the point: a workflow you rely on should not change in ways you did not ask for.
What it does
- Edits actions by name, not by position, so a small change stays small.
- Adds a new action for new behaviour, rather than rewriting the effects of an existing one.
- Keeps the source model, unrelated actions, conditions, permissions and action order.
- Does not weaken conditions or permissions as a side effect of another change.
- Adjusts notifications, record creation and field updates using only real fields and valid placeholders.
- States clearly when something you asked for, such as a date offset, could not be expressed, instead of describing it as done.
When it helps
- An approval reminder should go out by email as well as in the app. The agent edits that one notification.
- You want deals above a certain size to alert the sales director. The agent adds a new action with a condition and leaves the existing ones.
- A scheduled check should run on weekdays instead of every day. Only the schedule changes.
How it works with your data
Workflow Editor has no tools. It receives your request and the full definition of the workflow, plus related model details, and returns an edit plan. A separate part of Worknano shows the plan as a preview, and the change is only saved after you confirm. It uses a balanced model. As with all workflows, the actions it edits run on the server with the checks you configured, and the edit itself is limited to people who may change configuration. The agent only drafts the change. It does not run the workflow, so after a confirmed edit it is worth testing the action on a sample record.
Make it yours
Workflow Editor is a record in the Agents module. Edit its instructions, switch the model, change the temperature or duplicate it for a stricter version. Because Worknano is customizable with AI and shares one UI and database across modules, editing a workflow in HR works exactly like editing one in CRM.
