Dashboard Assistant: build dashboards and widgets by asking
The Dashboard Assistant works on your Dashboards page. You tell it which numbers you want to see, and it creates the dashboard, adds the widgets and arranges them on the grid. You skip the long form for each widget and the manual dragging to make columns line up.
Dashboards in Worknano read the same database as every other module. The assistant does not copy data anywhere. It configures widgets that point at your existing models.
What it does
- Creates dashboards. It sets a name, an optional description and, if you want it, a list of models the dashboard may use.
- Drafts widgets. Counts, aggregations by a field, durations, transitions between stages, timelines, burndown and velocity, and process mining. It picks a fitting component: a metric for a single number, a chart for a distribution or a series, a table for a breakdown.
- Applies filters. It writes the filter for you, for example deals in a given stage that close after a date.
- Arranges the grid. Ask for two columns, a larger chart or swapping two widgets and it rewrites the layout on the 12-column grid. It leaves the layout alone unless you ask, because new widgets are placed by the app.
- Reads before it edits. To change or move an existing widget, it reads that widget first.
When it helps
- You need a team overview by Friday. "Add a pie chart of tasks by status and a metric with open tasks" gives you two widgets in one confirmed step.
- A sales dashboard looks crowded. "Put the pipeline chart on the left and make it larger" changes the layout without touching the other widgets.
- You ask for a chart on a custom field. The assistant explains that such fields cannot be charted and points you to adding a real field through the configuration assistant.
How it works with your data
The assistant knows which models the open dashboard may use, with their fields and allowed values, so it can draft a widget straight away. It only reads what you may read. Creating or changing a dashboard or widget is a preview that you confirm first.
It does not analyse your numbers. Interpretation belongs to the Chart Analyst. Burndown and velocity charts count status changes over time, so they stay empty until statuses actually change, and the assistant tells you so instead of promising a full chart.
It runs on a fast model by default. You can change that.
Make it yours
Like every agent, the Dashboard Assistant is a record in the Agents module. Change its instructions to match your naming and layout habits, switch the model, adjust the temperature, or remove tools you do not want it to use. You can duplicate it or start from nothing. The guide Build your own agent explains the options, How to edit a page assistant and a reusable agent shows the editor, and Dashboards describes what the page can show.
