How to edit a model and its fields

Updated 2026-10-16

This lives under Config. Open the Models tab. A model is a type of record the workspace stores: a task, a deal, a person. It is not a pile of settings. Settings belong on the module.

If the Models tab is missing, that editor is off or your role cannot open it. Search and filter sit on the toolbar.

How to open one

  1. Open Config. Click Models.
  2. Click a module card (Projects, CRM, and so on).
  3. Open a record type to see its fields, types, and who owns the data.
  4. Prefer an existing field before you add a new one. Example: use “due date” that already exists instead of adding “deadline 2”.

Pages that show these records are edited under Config → Pages. Who can touch a record is Permissions.

Connectable fields

  1. On a numeric field, turn on Connectable. That lets a record bind the field to a live COUNT, SUM, AVG, MIN, or MAX from another model.
  2. Bind it on the record, not here. Open the record. Use Connect next to the field. Pick the source model, the function, and at least one condition. COUNT needs no source field. An empty filter is rejected. An empty match set writes 0.
  3. Workflows → Connected Fields only lists existing binds. Pause or delete there. You do not create the bind from that tab. Status is Active, Paused, or Broken.

Example: a key result’s current value is the count of Done tasks in that project. The target field must be numeric and marked Connectable. A connection belongs to one record, not a model.
