How to create a KPI dashboard and add a widget

Updated 2026-10-16

Open Dashboards in the left sidebar. Shared pages of charts and lists. Charts on a Project Overview still work if this page is turned off.

How to create and share a dashboard

  1. Every dashboard you can see is in the left sidebar. Click one to open it. The breadcrumb shows Dashboard and the page you selected.
  2. Click header + to create a dashboard.
  3. Set who can open it: everyone with access to dashboards, a team, named people, or only you.

Example: you create “Weekly sales” and share it with the Sales team. Design does not see it.

How to add a widget

  1. Open a dashboard you can edit. An empty canvas shows suggested widgets (the lightbulb) instead of a blank page. Click a suggestion to add it, or Create Custom Widget.
  2. Click Add a widget. Label is the title. Chart type is the visual (bar, pie, metric). Data source picks what to count: model, group, sum, and filters. Process-mining widgets appear only when that module is on.
  3. The right side explains each data source and shows a live preview once the left form has a path.
  4. Save. Click a chart slice when it is set up to open that list.

Example: add a bar chart of deals grouped by stage, filtered to this quarter. Click the “Won” bar to open those deals.

How to edit the layout

  1. Open a dashboard you can edit.
  2. Click Edit layout.
  3. Move and resize widgets, then save again.

The toolbar also opens suggestions and dashboard options when you can edit. Sparkles or Ctrl/Cmd+J opens the Dashboards assistant. It talks about the charts and widgets on the page you have open. Full steps: How to use the page assistant.
