Building your 21st module with AI: a working playbook

Updated 2026-09-29

Every business has at least one module that no off-the-shelf SaaS quite covers. A bespoke compliance tracker for a regulated industry. A donor-care system for a non-profit. A field-service dispatch for a small ops team. The reason you have not built it is not skill; it is time. Worknano's data-model designer plus AI assistance closes the gap from weeks to an afternoon.

Step 1: Sketch the model in plain English

Open the data-model designer, click New Model, and tell the assistant what you are building: who, what, when, why, and how it relates to the rest of the workspace. It proposes the fields, the types, the relations and the views. You confirm or edit; nothing is saved until you say so.

Step 2: Generate the views

Step 3: Wire automations

AI proposes the automations a module like yours typically needs: notifications, status changes, approvals, escalations, exports. You toggle the ones you want. They live in the same automation engine the rest of the product uses, so there is nothing new to learn.

Step 4: Ship and iterate

Publish the module to a role, invite the team, watch the first week of usage in the audit log, and refine. Add fields, change views, write a help article inside the workspace. The module is yours, lives in your tenant, and exports as JSON if you ever want to reuse it elsewhere.

We replaced a custom Salesforce object that took three quarters and a partner agency to build, with an afternoon and one engineer. The new module is faster, cheaper to maintain, and we own the schema.
